“Floteks applied for the Research&Development Centre Certificate in November 2021 under the Turkish Law No. 5746, and the R&D Centre Certificate was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Technology as of December 10, 2021.
Floteks Plastic Industry and Trade Inc. was established in 1983. It manufactures plastic fuel tanks and many large plastic parts with rotational moulding technology in a production area of 30,000 m2 in Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone in Bursa-Turkey. It is an integrated facility with product and mold design, mold production, powder preparation, rotational molding and parts production, assembly, testing and quality control processes.
Floteks took the first step towards corporate R&D studies by establishing the R&D department 21 years ago. Floteks has carried out 2 TTGV (Turkey Technology Development Foundation), 5 KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Directorate), 5 TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) projects to date, developed new products as outputs of these projects, sold licenses to foreign companies and earned more than 1 million Euros from technology exports. In addition, Floteks, which has received 1.64 million Euro funding within the scope of 5 European Union projects in which it has been involved since 2013, is in the 5th place among the SMEs receiving such support in Turkey. It is in the 11th place in the general ranking, which also includes large companies.
Having reached advanced laboratory facilities and qualified R&D staff as a result of the national and international projects it has carried out so far, Floteks applied for the R&D Centre Certificate in November 2021 under the Turkish Law No. 5746, and the R&D Centre Certificate was approved by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology as of December 10, 2021.
Joint projects have been carried out with many universities and research institutions at home and abroad, and close relations are maintained. It is aimed to develop the innovation capacity of R&D Centre employees, to create idea&innovation generation, project development and execution systematics, and to reach the R&D Centre targets as a result.
